Why you should create your business in a Niche Market to see fast results

Why is it important to focus in a particular Niche?

Niche Market SEO

If you are in the affiliate marketing industry, multi-level marketing industry or any internet marketing related industry, it is important to know that going after a particular Niche can be the solution for your fast success.

When I talk about Niches, I talk about a focused area of a particular market in which we can focus to build our site around.

In this article I want to give you a quick overview of what a niche is and how you can associate it to your website.

So what is a Niche Market?

According to Wikipedia, a Niche is:

A niche market is the subset of the market on which a specific product is focused. The market niche defines the product features aimed at satisfying specific market needs, as well as the price range, production quality and the demographics that is intended to impact. It is also a small market segment. For example, sports channels like STAR Sports, ESPN, STAR Cricket, and Fox Sports target a niche of sports enthusiasts.

Each person has a different approach and idea concerning the fact of going after a niche or diving into a wide open market with thousands of different offers. In my opinion, when starting your own online business, you always should look for a Niche if you want to get results on the fast track. Looking for a good and relevant Niche will allow you to be more successful and have less competition in the search engines.

Even if the majority of people will continue to go straight to the big authority and well established websites to search and buy a particular product, there are still a small percentage of them who will not be satisfied by the offers those big giants propose for many reasons.

One of the benefits of having a website focused in a particular Niche, is that when visitors find your site, they will probably end up buying what you have to offer since it can fill their particular needs.

Let’s say a particular person is looking for a particular type of product. That same person goes in a wide authority website with tons of variations of that particular product. He start searching for the model he wants but the site goes on proposing him too many models and sub-models associated with what he’s looking for, he can quickly feel overwhelmed and live the site without purchasing anything, right?

Now imagine that same person comes across your small website and quickly and easily finds the exact product he is looking for without spending hours browsing around watching product after product. Do you think that he will buy your product?

Of course yes!

See? Sometimes less is more efficient than too much. And when your website is laser focused in a particular Niche, you can properly satisfy people who need what your site offers.

How do you find a Niche?

There are many different methods you can apply to find a Niche. This can depend on your target market. But here is a quick process you can go after if you want to research and find a good Niche you can build your site around.

The first step you can take to find some potential Niches for your website is to look for a product you would like to promote. There are many places you can go to get ideas such as Google, forums, Yahoo Answers and even social media networks. Spend some time in these places and try to see what people are talking about.

Doing a relevant keyword research using tools like Market Samurai or Google Keyword Planner will help you and make your life much more easier by giving you exactly the most searched terms and topics. So do not ignore the tools at your disposal for quick and better results.

Sites like Amazon also can be a good place to go for finding ideas about what is hot now. You can always visit their “Best Sellers” area to see the current trends. A part from that, don’t forget to make a list of your own interests and things you are passionate about.

Your Niche must be very specific and laser targeted at the same time. For example, you can try to launch your website around the topic “Fashion Shoes For Women” as opposed to a generic topic like “Shoes”.

As an example, here on my blog I target the term “iPas2 System” and my Niche is about making money with iPas2. Most of my readers are looking for either information on “iPas2” or on “how to make money online”

Even if you are targeting just a small segment of a particular market, your Niche must always have enough products so that you can build a decent size website around it.

The product or service you intend to offer must also have a decent amount of monthly search to make sure that you’ll have an audience of interested buyers. There’s no point in creating a Niche that has no customer and that will not produce you any income at the end of the day.

Talking about income, the price of the product and how likely people are to buy are two important factors to take into account too. You must ask yourself if you prefer to sell an LCD TV; which can be very expensive with low conversion but will give you good commissions if you manage to sell one screen, or a product with a small price that sales like hot cakes like books, accessories or DVDs that will have high conversion but with low commissions.

The choice is yours.

There’s no written rules to this but I guess you get the point.

Now that you know why building your online business, let it be an Amazon Store or any affiliate website around a specific Niche is important, it’s time to get started.

Start by writing down a list of your hobbies and other things people may be interested in and go create your first Niche site.
